CASE STUDIES.

At Luft Product Design, we focus on designing and prototyping sporting goods and outdoor equipment, but we’ve also worked on projects in other industries. This page showcases examples of our past projects, giving you an insight into the types of products we’ve worked on and how we’ve helped clients bring their ideas to life.

UWH Puck Prototype

PRODUCT DESIGN

UWH PUCKS

We designed and manufactured a prototype underwater hockey puck, conducting material testing and refining the design to ensure optimal performance during play. We also carried out a detailed costing exercise to deliver a high-quality product within a specific price point.

Manufacturing Jig

DESIGN + 3D PRINTING

MANUFACTURING JIG

To increase efficiency and reliability on the production line, we designed a custom jig that securely holds injection-moulded parts in place, facilitating a secondary drilling process.

Electronics Housing

DESIGN + 3D PRINTING

ELECTRONICS HOUSING

We produced a small run of 3D-printed housings to securely and accurately hold electronics, ensuring internal components fit precisely and remained stable during use and shipping. The design included vents for heat management and a tool-free system for easy disassembly and maintenance.

Ducting Adapter

DESIGN + 3D PRINTING

DUCTING ADAPTER

We created a 3D-printed duct for a laser marking machine, using ASA for its chemical and impact resistance to ensure durability as a final-use part.

Rope Access 3D Printed Prototype

DESIGN + 3D PRINTING

ROPE ACCESS EQUIPMENT

We optimised the design to reduce material usage and part complexity while enhancing the user experience. A 3D-printed prototype ensured compatibility with existing products before a local manufacturing partner machined the final version from aluminium.

Glass Brick Table CAD

PRODUCT DESIGN

GLASS BRICK PROTOTYPES

We created a 3D CAD model of a table made from glass bricks to help the manufacturer better visualise technical drawings.
